It
was a successful outing at Universal Hotel, Independence Layout, Enugu, as
participants came flooding the venue of the event.
A seasoned meeting for youths aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, Idea Fair is aimed at instilling a culture of entrepreneurship among youths in the south eastern Nigeria, by encouraging them to develop their big ideas into sustainable businesses or expand their existing businesses through the provision of business technical know-how, as well as material and financial support.
This
includes funds accessibility through banks, government agencies, nongovernmental
organizations and the private sector. Conversations bothering around provision
of grants for business start up and or expansion also were actively engaged in
the course of the event. The fair in the nearest future also seeks to
facilitate business development skills training, free skills acquisition/vocational
training in all business sectors, free business mentoring and coaching.
The
first speaker was Kalu Ajah, CEO Afri Swiss Capital Management and he spoke on
the topic, THINK GLOBAL, ACT LOCAL. This was immediately followed by the second
presentation, which was delivered by Chukuwma Ohaka, Coordinator, First Source
Nigeria, who spoke on START SOMETHING. The third was Njoku George, CEO Frotkom
Nigeria Limited and he spoke on WHY START UPS FAIL.
It
was a very interesting and life changing experience for the participants, as
reflected in the feedback that they gave.
